The following information is provided to help speakers plan for their talk. Any questions not covered below, please contact the Speaker Finder.
Venue – Ipswich Masonic Hall (See Venue)
Timing – lunch is at 12.30 but members meet in the bar from about 11.45. The room will be available for you to set up at any time from 11.00. Please tell the Speaker Finder when you intend to arrive so that he can ensure someone is there to greet you.
Lunch – your lunch is 3 courses and is at the clubs expense. Please let the Speaker Finder know if you have any specific dislikes or dietary requirements and he will make the necessary arrangements with the caterer.
Talk – after lunch we generally have a comfort break for 10-15 minutes. Talks typically start at 14.00 and last for around 30-40 minutes including time for questions. We like to give a vote of thanks to the speaker at the end of the talk, and aim to close the meeting at 14:45 as many members have transport arranged at this time – should you over-run please do not be surprised if some members start to take their leave.
Equipment – speakers are expected to provide a laptop and a digital projector. The club will provide a screen, microphone, table and power as required. Please take care to ensure cables are not a trip hazard, just in case members take their leave before the end of your talk.
Audience – retired gentlemen.
Dress code – our members wear a jacket and tie but this is optional for speakers.
Confirmation – the Speaker Finder will generally contact you a few weeks prior to check that you are happy with all of the arrangements.
